Forced DPF regenerations add extra strain to engines and engine oil especially, so we carry out ‘on car’ DPF cleaning / flushing for all vehicles with the diesel particulate filter still in place.

This is a professional two stage cleaning method, where cleaning fluid is deposited directly in to the front of the DPF followed by a flush – not like some cheap cleaning methods where ‘cleaning fluid’ is inserted from the rear exhaust!

Our ‘on vehicle’ DPF cleaning has been tried and tested by ourselves here in St Just, Penzance. The job saves the customer hundreds of pounds in labour costs, as well any potential issues with seized DPF temperature sensors along the way during component removal.

Below is an example of an on vehicle DPF clean carried out to a 2016 Vauxhall Vivaro, that had permanent DPF blocked fault codes and was unable to regenerate using diagnostic equipment.

Our DPF cleaning solution reduced the soot loading from 80g to 0.4g and the DPF pressure reduced from over 100mbar at 1200rpm to 11mbar at 2200rpm.

This was all without needing to ‘fore’ a regeneration using diagnostics and add stress on the engine and engine oil:

We recommend an engine oil change after any DPF work, to keep your engine and exhaust system healthy.

Understandably there is potential for underlying issues causing the DPF to block up at an excessive rate, however these can only be addressed once the DPF is clean and the vehicle is out of limp mode and driving as it should.
